MAKHURA CONCERNED ABOUT HIGH YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT

Gauteng Premier David Makhura.

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Premier David Makhura says despite the progress made throughout the years, the government remain deeply concerned about the persistently high levels of unemployment.

He says the government is more concerned about high unemployment, especially among young people as well as the slow pace of transformation in key sectors of the economy.

Makhura says failures in our public institutions, especially those that cater for the most vulnerable citizens, will never be tolerated. He says they are putting comprehensive measure in place to prevent these failures from reoccurring.

The premier is urging all of Gauteng citizens to join hands with the government in working towards a seamlessly integrated, economically inclusive, socially cohesive and globally competitive Gauteng City-Region with an activist, accountable, responsive and clean government and an active citizenry.
