JOHANNESBURG - Premier David Makhura says through the Tshepo 500 000 programme, the government is ensuring that all young people are afforded opportunities to enter the job market, acquire skills and run their own businesses.

He says they are strengthening the partnerships to drive their agenda of accelerated social transformation across the Gauteng City-Region in providing quality education and health care, in fighting poverty, protecting and supporting the most vulnerable in our society, promoting social cohesion and nation building and building a safer and more secure Gauteng.

Makhura says they are making progress in building a developmental state with the capacity to drive transformation, modernisation and reindustrialisation.

He says the results of the government work work can be seen from the quality of audit outcomes which continue to improve, the strengthening of the integrity of their systems and the promotion of good governance.
